One of the strongest characteristics of a Shorkie is its personality. Shorkies are a friendly, non-aggressive dog that is a good companion for children and other breeds of dogs. Shorkies are known for their love of playing and romping around but are quick to get a cuddle in when it is time to settle down and watch a movie with the family.  The Shorkie is love their humans!!!! They cherish no more than the love of people. Belly rubs are a must for this breed. They will sit patiently, remaining still with their eyes gazing intently on your face waiting for you to call them over to be patted or turned over for that belly rub we mentioned. The Shorkies is not a one-person dog but a true love every member of the family type of dog. . Shorkies are happy to entertain any stranger so do not think he will guard the PRIZE JEWELS! This is one reason that they are becoming so popular. They make friends wherever they go. The Shorkie has a lap dog personality, in your bed type of personality, cant go to the bathroom by yourself type of personality. They are neither high strung nor demanding they just love to be with you. The Shorkie  is content during the day to lie in a corner with his legs stretched out behind him having sweet dreams until you are ready to play or go for a walk or cuddle.  If he has a choice he would prefer to be curled up in your lap or getting a belly rub!

The Shorkie will steal the show where ever he goes AND IS ALWAYS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION IN ANY GATHERING AND THEY LOVE IT!!!!
